the Corsair GS-700w is one of the cheapest and quietest PSU's on Amazon UK, try the New 700w GS, I own both GS and TX, they are great value for money.
but if you are going to be overclocking the CPU or going SLI with 2x big cards, then the only safe way is a single rail PSU 80+Plus
with "plenty of good clean RAW power" and no BSOD, when OCing, - So try the CORSAIR TX-850w (it has) MORE headroom of (950w) an Extra 100w tho.
Just a better PSU for overclocking in general, gets all fab reviews on the net & also monthly mags. thats the Corsair TX-850w.
its a completely different inside build than the GS with more safety features.! GS has 3 years Warranty, while the TX has 5 years!
So (TX) and (GS) ARE great for 'CrossXfire or SLI', overclocking CPU and GPU, play safe with the Corsair PSUs for all types of CPU, GPU, use its
very easy on my electric meter, providing your not overclocking most of your hardware (tho, if you are, stick with the TX) For safety.
On the other hand the TX, has a different PCB, and is made by Seasonic, the best in the business at making power supplys work reliably.
Thanks for reading folks.. hope the review has been helpful. 'there is little difference in price' between the (GS-600w and GS-700w) at present.
Cheers! - :-)
(PS). If your on a shoestring budget, stick with the Corsair GS-700w OR CX-600w (These are both still great power supplies), so please do not worry.
but if your planning on NOT changing your PSU for a while and need future-proofing, the Corsair TX-750/850w is the better solution, for the extra
few quid, Amazon UK, are the cheapest with FREE super saver delivery. If you do not have the extra Dosh and want to get on with your build then
stick with the Corsair GS-700w its great value for money ATM, its got some nice fancy lighting, with different colours but to me a bit gimmicky.
(I want a power supply not a disco.. lol :D) - its your money at the end of the day, so you decide. Whats it to be? Adios, David.
