I have just returned two of these to a different supplier due to what seems to be a problem of short circuiting, possibly caused by design or manufacturing problems. In short, both units had a whining sound and pulled about 20w when switched off via the toggle switch at the back, and 30w hen switched on and not even connected to anything but the mains!! It's supposed to be EuP compliant so should use no more than 1w with a suitable motherboard on standby/sleep, let alone when connected only to the wall. I also noticed on the second one that the circuit board looked slightly bowed. I might be unlucky and have bought from a faulty batch but I would steer clear of these as you might end up paying over £30 per year just to have it plugged in. If you have already bought one, get it checked out sooner rather than later.
