Died after one day. 7 Mar 2011
By Richmix - Published on Amazon.com
The drive worked beautifully when I first installed it. Installation went without a hitch. No issues installing Windows 7, which took about five minutes (yes, a full installation), and this drive seemed to run like a dream in the short time I had with it. It was lovely while it lasted. Unfortunately, it didn't last long.

The day after I installed it, I got a BSOD while playing a game, then the computer would not boot. My motherboard would not recognize the drive at all. I returned it. I'm not bothering with an exchange because this product line seems to have some huge problems, and I don't want to waste my time. YMMV.

Blazing fast, UNTIL it dies 4 Nov 2010

I was a firm believer in the Indilinx Barefoot controller that controls this solid state drive until it failed. I put off ordering other ssd's until a more reliable version/generation came out without stuttering or problems. This is why I ordered this drive, for reliability versus space in traditional fairly unreliable hdd's because no one likes reinstalling/replacing a good year's worth of software and documents.

However, to my surprise this solid state drive failed after only about a year of regular use. I've never had a drive fail on me so fast. After testing the ssd in multiple computers on all kinds of different settings, I confirmed that the drive had failed. The failure happened out of the blue with almost no warning. I did notice that a few days before the ssd's failure it had trouble booting and would lock up occasionally (a problem I assumed to be associated with something else). Long story short I bit the bullet for not backing up my system. Thankfully the warranty covers 2 years as explicitly stated on Amazon (3 years on their website). Outside of failure the drive ran with relatively few problems and extremely fast, as expected of ssd's which is why I'm giving it 2 stars.

In my personal opinion the selling point of these overpriced drives is the reliability. However, after reading about the frequent failure of these ssd's (and my own drive's failure) I would recommend a one tb hdd over this ssd any day. Save yourself the time, money and heartache. The amount of storage, price and reliability are much better trade offs than for the speed of this problematic drive. I highly unrecommended this product as an experienced computer/technology enthusiast.
Failed me twice! 20 Nov 2011
By Dave - Published on Amazon.com
I bought this drive a little over a year ago and it was wonderful. About nine months in it failed and Corsair replaced it after about two weeks. Unfortunately, there was very little communication from their end and I had to call several times to inquire about the status of the replacement.

The second one lasted me three months and crashed earlier today. So frustrating! I am never buying from them again.
