Product Description

The unconventional design of Carbide Series Air 540 utilizes dual chambers to deliver cooler air to your CPU, graphics cards, motherboard, and memory without your drives or power supply getting in the way. The included custom Air Series AF140L intake and exhaust fans provide great airflow performance at lower noise levels than typical case fans. And, you can mount up to six 120mm or five 140mm fans, with 280mm top radiator support and room for a 360mm radiator on the front panel. Like all Corsair cases, Carbide Series Air 540 is designed for fast, neat, and satisfying builds. The tinted, oversized flush-mount side window lets you show off your work.

The dual compartment design makes for some amazing air flow in the main partition, keeping your GPU, RAM and motherboard cool with little interference.

There's also room at the front for a large radiator, and the top of the case has room for a H100i cpu cooler to fit easily.

It's wider than most, but if you've looked into this you should already know that.

The large side window is great for a case like this, as you can hide most of your messy cabling and items on the enclosed side, and leave yourself with a great view of the 'pretty' parts.

All in all, I'd highly recommend this for first time builders for it's ease of use, and to people looking to build something more advanced for the amount of space.

I came from a Cosmos S case which is giant and was great to build in but the cable management isn't that great and my rear panel bulges with cables. I wasn't shopping for a new case but when I saw this it's (as a previous reviewer states) a marmite case and I loved the look of it plus instead of a small section for rear panel cabling, this thing comes with almost another case stuck on the side.

Unboxing it revealed it's brilliance, a little larger than I expected but still awesome to look at. My previous system has 4 x 3.5" HDD's, 1 x SSD, a dual bay LCD screen, fan controller and blu ray drive. Now that won't fit but I knew that anyway that I'd be downsizing. This case only has 2 x 3.5" hot swap mounts and 4 x SSD mounts with only 2 drive bays.

For those out there who want more than 2 x 3.5" HDD's, I sacrificed a drive bay, chucked the fan controller and LCD screen and bought a 3.5" HDD mount in black ORICO AC52535-1S Full Aluminum 5.25 " to 2.5 " / 5.25 to 3.5 / 2.5 & 3.5 - inch All - in - 1 Hard Drive HDD/SSD Converter / Adapter Mounting bracket Hardcore Funs Exclusive (5.25 to 2.5 or 3.5 Black)to slot in and let me have 3 of them. You could probably tear out the cheapo plasticky SSD cages which feel easily snappable and in this space on top of the PSU you could mod 2 HDD's to sit in here as well. I personally hate having 4 SSD mounts and only 2 HDDs but that's because my work requires tons of storage and mechanical hard drives are the cheapest solution just now. In the future I may be able to remove the 3rd HDD and fill up my 4 SSD cage, if it hasn't snapped off by then.

Although quite a large case, the design is superb and the build quality is much better than many of the cheaper cases available.
The case itself is split into two halves, with one half holding the board and two hot swap drive bays, and the other half holding the power supply, the optical drive(s) and a hard drive / SSD caddy for up to 5 x 2.5" drives.
All the cables are routed through this 2nd half making for a nice neat finish.

Plenty of room in this bad boy for installing any configuration you like. But a word to the wise if you connect all the fans and any additional ones. Get a fan controller to slow the speed when your not doing anything tasking.

I'm happy with this product, the perks of keeping the undesired components in the back section of the case out of view is a very clever idea. The case lacks in my opinion one very important dust filter, which is for the psu. I use the top section as more of an exhaust so no dust filter there doesnt bother me.

Overall I like this product but for 110 pounds, I want a more finished product, I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.

:))

Corsair cases are just like American cars. Some of them are very pretty to look at but when it comes to build quality and reliability, they totally suck balls. I have a high end AMD gaming rig (FX-9590 and a pair of Sapphire R9-290's in Xfire). I have been looking for an upgrade (for a few months now) to supersede my ageing Coolermaster storm trooper. What I am ideally looking for is a case that is a full tower, has excellent build quality, has a huge cabin that can easily house current and future large sized components, that offers great air and liquid cooling options, can be mounted on wheels and will fit under my desk.

I am pretty shocked to find that modern cases are lacking in these features and aesthetics (whatever happened to the Akasa Venom toxic black and CM-HAF932?). In the end, I got fed up and ordered this Corsair 540. It arrived well packaged. When I prepped it for installation of pc parts, I was somewhat disappointed with the quality of materials used. For example, the skeleton mainframe is made of steel, but it is a thin grade steel as it was bending/flexing when I was screwing in my coolermaster jetflo fans. The side panels are made of thin grade steel, so there is a fair bit of flex to them. The outer shell of the Corsair 540 is all plastic. The top and front panels are detachable and when I test them, they do have a fair bit of bend/flex in them, as they are constructed of thinner (cheaper?) grade plastic.

This is in stark contrast to my CMST which is made of heavy duty steel and plastic. No bend or flex in side/top panels whatsoever. The Corsair 540 only comes with one front filter (bearing in mind the price tag and number of vents, it should have five filters). In contrast, my CMST has front, top, bottom and side filters.
