5.0 out of 5 stars Hmnmhm, 14 Mar 2005
By Elliot Davies "ahttt" (Liverpool, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Hello friends, I gave this the full five stars for very personal reasons. This was essentially my first taste of rock music, I was indoctrinated by it. Listening to it now, every track opens the flood gates and a surge of wonderful memories swim around the cerebelia. Yeah, some of the songs aren't very good at all (Creed....forget it, just forget it), it's just the fantastic memories that this compilation gives me that makes me love it so much.

That said, there is some truly fantastic music here. (Hed) Planet Earth's Bartender is insane, as is the Suicide Machine's excellent cover of Rose Garden. I have never seen this music anywhere else. Then there's the absolute classics. Rage Against The Machine! Slash N' Burn! Buck Rodgers! Even the Korn track defies all expectations.

Yeah, there's no way you'll like this as much as me. Hoewever, if you're twelve or thirteen and want to get into rock music, there's no better place to start. Who knows, you may even develop your own tear jerking memories....through the medium of metal....I really should get out more.

5.0 out of 5 stars best in the world, 23 Oct 2002
This is the best compilation I have ever brought. The best tracks are by one minute silence, disturbed and ratm. the bad tracks are not terrible they just sound it compared to the others. It is well worth the money and will keep you listening for years to come

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad..., 12 Feb 2002
By A Customer
...but the problem with nu metal bands is that they are like dance music, they age very quickly. A year on some of these bands like Disturbed seem very lame and outdated. Good pick of old tracks but there isn't much of a risk here. Would have liked to have seen more variety with the songs. Not a bad compilation though.
