More About the Author

Despite holding positions of Professor of Investment and Professor of Corporate Finance, Glen C. Arnold concluded that academic life was not nearly as much fun (nor as intellectually stimulating) as making money in the financial markets. As a wealthy investor in his early 50s he now spends most of his time running his equity portfolio and a small property development company from a tiny office in the heart of rural Leicestershire, far from the noise of the City. He also does a little writing and a few seminars.

His main research focus explores the question: "What works in investment?" drawing on the work of the great investors, academic discoveries and corporate strategic analysis. He is happy to share ideas with fellow enthusiasts in the City, such as at Schroders Investment Management, where he teaches 19 days each year. He also organises seminar days for private investors to discuss investment philosophies, company analysis and techniques allowing high returns - see www.glen-arnold-investments.co.uk.

He has written the best-selling investment book and the best-selling UK corporate finance textbook.

SETS OUT THE BASIC PRINCIPLES OF FINANCE IN A CLEAR AND CONCISE MANNER AND THE CHAPTERS COVERED ALLOW THE READY TO BUILD HIS OR HER KNOWLEDGE OF FINANCE ALMOST FROM SCRATCH . IT ALSO PROVIDES GOOD REFERENCES TO OTHER MORE ADVANCED MATIERALS . IT IS SOMEWHAT LACKING THOUGH IN ACTUAL STUDY QUESTIONS. ALL IN ALL FOR THE BEGINNER FINANCIER A GOOD BUY.
