I bought this doll for my daughter's 6th birthday. It was a great price (compared to what you normally pay for a Corolle Cherie doll). I had been looking for a "little girl" doll similar to the ones I used to have as a kid. ie - not a baby type and not a teenager type, such as Barbie and Bratz. However we seem to have no UK branded ones.
This doll is beautiful. She is smaller than you would expect but I was prepared for that after reading the other reviews.
When my daughter opened her present on her birthday she looked at it for a minute and said "what is it?" She had never seen a "little girl" doll before!
However, after the first day of not really knowing what to do with her, she started to play with her and thought she was wonderful, especially the opening and closing eyes and her eyelashes. She also loved the outfit and the fact that she smells of vanilla.
Regarding the outfit, the only thing I would say is that once you cut the bits of string holding her ribbons up (attached to the bottom of her leotard) then the ribbons don't stay up on the legs. However my daughter isn't in the least bit bothered.
I have now also bought the Tenues des Poupees book on Amazon (from the UK site) which is a mix of sewing and knitting patterns specifically for these Cherie type dolls. I can cope with the sewing patterns but I had completely forgotten I wouldn't understand French knitting terms. :-) However I found a very useful site which translates all the specific knitting pattern terms in one long list, so I have printed that out and I am sure I'll soon get the hang of it.
I would definitely like to buy more Corolle Cherie dolls , however the others I have seen are quite expensive so maybe I'll keep an eye out for offers.
