Just retired John Waller and his Danish wife decide to renovate their near-derelict holiday home. They gain control from their neighbour who has pumped sewage on their land.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Corfu Saga Moves On 7 Jun 2005
What a great follow up to Greek Walls. John Waller's Account of his tireless efforts to upgrade his villa and build a swimming pool is sometimes hilarious always fascinating. The Greeks are either good guys (most of them) or bad guys (mainly his neighbour). They all share a rock solid reputation for being unreliable but it wouldn't be so much fun if everything happened as and when it should. I would certainly recommend this book to anyone going to Corfu especially those buying property.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing Sunset 15 Jan 2008
By Aesop
Having bought the book to read during our first year of living in Greece we found it was written from a very different point of view to ours. It depicts the Greeks in an often disparaging way - OK, things don't happen quickly here but surely anyone knows that. If you are looking for a book on how not to do things the right way, then this is it. If you want to live as an ex-pat/have a holiday home then it could be useful. If you love the Greek way of life & want to experience it by integrating into a community, then this is certainly not an account of that.

3.0 out of 5 stars A DECENT READ 25 Sep 2011

The follow on not as good as the first and a little boring in places but with some good passages. James Chatto has the upperhand though
