Nice dishes but very poor packaging!

I bought two of these dinnerware sets as a present for my sister. When she opened the boxes, we found that the dishes and bowls were stacked on top of each other with nothing separating them. Nothing broke, but really the wrapping was very poor. Worst of all, the dinnerware sets came in plain cardboard boxes! Where are the boxes that say Corelle? Where's the registration or user's manual? Are these dishes used or what? I've never bought dishes without the boxes from the manufacturer. My sister thinks these dishes were second hand and I'm embarrassed because I bought them for her birthday. I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon and once in a while something gets messed up. I chalk it up because Amazon is pretty good at replacing and refunding items, but I have never seen this. Shouldn't Corelle have its own boxes for its dishes?

I grew up with Corelle dishes and hadn't seen this pattern yet. I have a lot of stoneware but with kids it's not the best investment so I decided to buy some Corelle dishes. I am glad I did. The pattern is lovely and not too busy. I has just the right amount of color without being over the top. I do wish the bowls had more of the pattern but they still look nice. The mugs are stoneware which isn't great but the shade of red is really nice and I have yet to have one break. I haven't seen this pattern out at retail stores so if you like it grab it here!

Lovely Pink and Red Flower border

This dinnerware has a lovely pattern border of pink and red flowers. The red is more of a cherry shade and compliments the pink.
I like the fact that this set has the cups instead of the glasses. The only problem I have with these dishes is that the cups are stoneware and made in China. That sort of thing matters to me. The price was great- a real bargain for these quality dishes.
