I can't fault the purchasing part - it arrived in good time, and well-packaged.
That's the good news.
The bad news is that there appear to be a number of glitches in the program - the display doesn't fit the screen properly when maximised, for instance. Users of the earlier version will also find that a couple of useful tools have gone.
But the reason I purchased it was for the ability to handle Nikon NEF files. These are a type of RAW file produced by digital cameras, and although the previous version claimed to support them, this was very limited. Well, other software houses might have issued a patch to support more recent file types, but OK, I thought, the upgrade is not cripplingly expensive.
Sadly, although it can open NEF files, in the case of those in my version (Nikon D5000), that doesn't turn out to be the case.Oh, they open, but as soon as you try to do any editing, the program crashes. Every time! All you can do is immediately save as a jpg, or convert them beforehand. Which I could do anyway, with free Nikon software: so the advantages of the NEF format are therefore lost.
I finished the first version of this review on a slightly positive note. Sadly, I've had to revise that to a negative one. The day after installation, Corel downloaded a "patch". This rendered the program unusable. It crashed when performing simple photo augmentation tasks (on jpg files), on a depressingly regular basis.
I cannot recommend the software: a pity, as earlier versions had a lot of plus points.
