This CD contains no software. It contains a link and registration to online training. The training is good and you have the ability to learn in short bursts over a 12 month period. Downside is that you cant really get any help, you are on your own.
Having said that it does cover word extensively, but you are probably better buying the training rather than "renting" it for a year in case you forget anything and need reminders.

As the sort of person who 'wings it' when they use software, rather than learning how-to properly - this was a great opportunity for me to learn more of the depth of the bells and whistles of this program - one that I have been using for ages.. It is an online course, which gives you 12 months to work through all the lessons, so you have time to do it in the midst of life and work and everything else that usually stops you from making the effort or getting to classes, to discover what the software we pay so much for can do. I found it really helpful and, as I can remember the days when you'd get nothing but the software along with a manual the size of the phonebook - a manual that could only be understood by the people who wrote it, I can say that Microsoft have done really well with this initiative.

Great test for your memory but for intuitive training not that great,

That Office 207 is very different in feel and layout is well known so I was hoping this training would by its interactive nature make the transition much easier than the normal routine of struggling with a reference book to hand on my lap/desktop and working my through the screen on my laptop. Well that was the theory but firstly the training is just large chunks of a reference book placed on screen and secondly is a long memory test that rechecks you have remembered all the technical terms to pas the test at the end.
In addition the training just starts without little orientation to outline how you should approach each module and also a simple intro on the major differences with prior Word would have helped orientate better for what follows. Very disappointing given my expectation level and I was left feeling a heavy usability testing exercise is needed to enhance the approach used under this training and also I have to admit simply left me even more enthused about the new Apple iWork '09 suite versus Office 2007 (the differences are narrowing considerably from say 4 years ago).
