Goes into all aspects of conditioning for golf. If you are dedicated enough to diet, do exercise, strength training, and focused practice, then this is the book for you. Draws very much on current thinking about where strength comes from in the golf swing. You might like to check out the work of Alison Thietje at Mind-2-Motion as well as they go together as an approach to developing more power and stamina.

Great Book for Golf, which you can apply to entire lifestyle 25 Feb. 2008
By Kyle Patterson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I am a 24 year old former collegiate golfer, and this book is probably one of the best I have read for golf specific training. The exercises are described well and the workouts are easy to follow. There is also a nutrition section which talks about how to be healthier day to day as well as what to eat pre / during a round. For anyone looking to increase flexibility, strength, power, eat better, prevent injury, this book is a must.

Just a side note, but the movement prep sequence for the workouts / pre round are worth the price of this book itself. I will never workout or play golf again without completing the Movement Prep beforehand, it is the best stretching / warm up routine I have seen.

I highly recommend this book.

Get in shape - Play longer 22 Feb. 2009
By W. McTighe - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This is a comprehensive plan to build your core, improve your balance and get in shape for golf (and other sports). Mark touches on many aspects of sports preparation including nutrition and stretching. This holistic approach gives you all the keys to succeed and allows you to create a plan that fits you. There is some product promotion, but it doesn't detract from the wealth of information provided.

Core Performance Gold 18 Mar. 2009
By Mary Gamblin - Published on Amazon.com

This is a great book for exercises you can do at home to help you core muscles and build muscle strength. Easy reading and picture exercise description. Would recommend this for every golfer to help reduce body injury while golfing.

Some good exercises but seems to skip strength 24 Jan. 2009
By Andy H. Greenwald - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I got some good exercises from this book. You can get the Jan or Feb Golf Magazine and see the main exercises in this book for free. The book actually has a program and approach that I think is well laid out.

I think this book should also mention more exercises to really strengthen your core muscles. The focus is overly tilted to flexibility.

Good content but not helpful at all. Its like an infomercial 7 Sept. 2009
By Sujeet Varakhedi - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This book is like one of those infomercials that advertise a product for about 30 mins. The book is very good in convincing why core workout and nutrition is important to playing golf with success for a long time without injury but fails to tell you what to actually do. The book has about 9 chapters and 8 chapters are highly abstract. The 9th chapter has exercises with pictures but no plan (eg: it does not tell you how many reps. to perform niether tells you how any times a week or when to do them)
The name of the book is completely misleading. You will end up confused without knowing what to do at the end of it all.
