The book is really good. covering every basic concept completely. But I think the book is suitable only for experienced programmer who already have some experience and knowledge in Java. I'm really satisfied buying this book.

Highly reccomended. Very good explanations, very good examples, easy to understand. Covers all the fundamentals that you will need.
I also recomend their second volume (advanced features).
