I have just finished reading Cordero's Forced Bride by Kate Walker and on the whole enjoyed the story. It reminded me of one of her previous books - Sicilian Husband, Blackmailed Bride, in that the opening chapters are both set in church and a wedding is interrupted. I would have given a higher rating but struggled to be convinced that the heroine would fall so quickly for the hero when he came across as being a bit of a stuffed-shirt. A very sexy stuffed shirt though!!

I did enjoy the story albeit with some reservations. Alexa's sister has left Santos at the church as she has run off with another man. Santos decides that Alexa will replace her sister as his bride. After all he was not marrying the other sister for love! This is all about business. Although Santos believes that Alexa knew that the marriage to her sister was only a business arrangement but she does not know that,and she is astounded when he insists that she take her sisters place! The plot was okay but the writers insistance of over doing what the two leads were thinking interferred with the dialogue, and the flow of the story.

Like some of Kate Walker's other stories, she spend a lot of pages on thoughts and emotions without much plot going on. This writing took place in a span of two days of different occasion. There are not a lot of chemistry between the hero and the heroine. Could do with more passion, emotions and plots. Could let this pass.
