Product Description

The Berkshire 800 builds on the features of the new ATL Berkshire range and adds to it the power of Calling Line Identity (CLI), which allows both name and number display of the caller. Great for allowing you to gather your thoughts and paperwork, before answering that customer call.

I believe that this phone probably has very good functionality but I only made a few test calls to discover it didn't suit me.

The handsfree operation works well on one side, in that the other person can hear me clearly, but I can not hear them clearly, the speaker is unclear with some breaks in sounds and low volume even on maximum. When I switch to handset, the sound I hear is poor quality and the other person reports that I actually become fainter when using the handset as opposed to talking to handsfree.

Frustratingly this is the exact opposite problem of a BT phone I tried recently which has great sound on the handset at both ends, a great speaker at my end, but a fault which many people appear to have been hit by that the other person can't hear clearly when I use handsfree. The search continues.

This is a superbly-made phone that feels of quality - the buttons do not have the cheap feel of many phones these days. It comes with a ten-year guarantee.

Perfectly Cromulent 15 Jan 2011
By David M
I bought one of these for my home study having seen them at work. It's fine, has lots of functions and they work well. Well built and good quality. It does everything you wouold want a desk phone to do. I like the caller list in particular.

Downsides? Well the buttons are a bit small. With so much space there's no reason why they needed to make them small and far apart, and the labels in small font. I suppose I'll get used to where the buttions are and what they do. The speaker function is OK. The person at the other end can hear me perfectly, when i listen to them, the phone tends to clip their first cylable slightly. If you want a true audio conference phone, I reckon you need tp pay £200-£300, so for what it costs, I'm not complaining about this phone. The volume control is good. If the person on tyhe other end is a little faint, there's scope to ampl;ify them a little. I recommend this phone. I'm pleased i bought it.
