4.0 out of 5 stars Good reference guide, 8 Dec 2008

This review is from: The Corbetts and Other Scottish Hills: Scottish Mountaineering Club Hillwalkers' Guide (SMC hillwalkers' guide) (Hardcover)
Covering all the 2500 - 3000 ft scottish hills this is a great reference guide to the worthy Corbetts, with useful route information and photographs. Don't be fooled by their lowly heights, these hills are often tougher than their larger companions. The route information given (and there are several per mountain) is not always up to date, there are few well walked Corbetts, unlike the Munros. Often I have found forests have matured, deer fences erected or bridges gone. The book could do with an update, however it's still the best reference guide there is.

1.0 out of 5 stars Warning - Problem with printing of book, 9 Jan 2009

This review is from: The Corbetts and Other Scottish Hills: Scottish Mountaineering Club Hillwalkers' Guide (SMC hillwalkers' guide) (Hardcover)
I have purchased this book from 2 different companies off Amazon. I returned the first and am about to return the second. Pages 97-128 are missing from the book and pages 129-160 appear twice. The missing pages cover the areas from Glen Shee to Cairn o'Mount and The Cairngroms & Buchan.
You're probably better off buying this book in a shop as you can check if it is from a faulty batch rather than buying it off Amazon and then having to incur the expense of returning the item if it turns out to be faulty.
