A good basic introduction to corals and their requirements. I would recommend it as an introduction to coral keeping and fragging.
5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Book for Hobbyists Considering Raising Coral 8 Mar 2014

This is the second excellent book written by Becky Wolff that I have reviewed. Just as was her Set Up Your Own Saltwater Aquarium, this booklet includes a goodly number of stunning color photographs.

Other than the terrific photographs, what makes this 60 page booklet useful, yet easy to read, is Wolff's conversational style while explaining the basics of:

1 - Scientific name
2 - Description
3 - Care level
4 - pH, Temperature, Water hardiness, calcium
5 - Region origin
6 - Food & light needs, water movement

Yesterday, in so discussing, the author keeps it brief but conversational.

I not only highly recommend Coral Reef for Your Aquarium, I suggest it as an essential piece in any fish hobbyist's collection.

Pros: Easy to follow formats.
I learned a few new things about raising and feeding my corals.

Cons: way too short. It took me less than 30 minutes to finish.
Also, the photos are usually in the the second page when reading on kindle. This makes you blind to the coral you are reading about.

Overall, good value for the money.

This was available for 99 cents on the Kindle, so I wasn't too concerned about not liking it. I was pleased to find it was a nice guide to corals. It is very basic and covers only a few of what to me are more popular beginner corals, but the author covers lighting, feeding, and temperament of these species in an easy to understand manner. All in all a good purchase.

I liked that it was written in a conversational style which made it an easy and informative read. Could use a few more pictures though.
