This is one of JAK's longer books, and she uses the extra pages to great advantage. Not only is there some lovely development in the love between the leads, but an extra depth of charcterisation is an added bonus. In this book, not only does the hero have a tortured past, but the heroine has one to match, and they heal each other, which makes for an extra loving feel. It does involve some technical stuff about scuba-diving, but it's not confusing, and she doesn't rattle on. I've never been diving in my life and I found it easy to enjoy. In other words, this is as great as usual, although it's probably more for fans of JAK than first time readers.
