Book Description

Copywriting when done well is pure art much in the same way as a great picture or painting; it pulls on the emotional strings that dictate our buying habits. Whenever I write I try to keep in this in mind. But more importantly I realise that my words won’t even be read if I haven’t considered several crucial factors.

Audience - Who is my target audience? Who is going to be reading what I write? Why are they reading what I write?

Features or Benefits - Depending upon my audience will dictate whether I focus upon the features or benefits of a particular product or service.

Our Goals - What is the overall goal of the copy? Is it sales, opt-ins, opinions or feedback.

Strategies - Have we decided on the best strategy? Who is going to tell us if we have achieved our goals?

End user Action or Reaction - What is the end game? Much like our goals we must know what we want out of the copy.

This book goes into each of the above and more to demystify the art of Copywriting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Practical Advice, How to Get Started Now 22 Jan. 2014
By Pantera - Published on Amazon.com

I am in the middle of writing my own sales pages so I got the book and from the first page it helped me to organize my thoughts and goals. And the author gives great advice on headline writing which is ultra important to seduce people to read what you wrote. Don't get an over-priced writing course, get this book to find out what you need to know to do copywriting that pays off. I'm not starting a copywriting business but if I was this has all the info on doing it as well. In fact maybe I will after all the great tips in here on starting a business. There's so many books and courses on this topic but here it all is in one place. It tells you what to do and most importantly what Not to do. Dive in and enjoy. I did.

1.0 out of 5 stars Woefully bad... 20 Sept. 2014
By Scott - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Oh, the irony of having a section called "5 things to avoid in writing" and have several of those exact mistakes in that very chapter. In the author's defense, he points out how these mistakes can erode the confidence a consumer has in those that produce bad copy. And seeing those mistakes in this book greatly eroded my confidence in anything the book had to say.
