5.0 out of 5 stars On the Edge of Your Seat Read 13 Aug 2011

Format:Mass Market Paperback
This is a book that you can't put down until you finish. It will keep you reading until the end. It is full of danger, suspense, and a couple of real surprises. The heroine and the hero are perfect counterparts for each other although the heroine is more of a jump in without looking person than the hero. And she is fearless.

This is the final book in the trilogy and finally we find out "who done it" and it was a total surprise. We didn't meet the ultimate villain until the last book but even when he was first introduced you aren't sure he is the villain in spite of the fact that the heroine of this book believed he was a killer.

Natalie Becker was sure that her sister's husband ~ Hamilton Gray ~ killed her but nobody would believe her until J.D. Cooper arrive in town. She was a deputy in Terrebonne but because of the way she insisted Gray was guilty she ended up getting suspended from the force. However she kept on investigating him and previous murders in the area.

J.D. Cooper headed for Terrebonne to continue to investigate his wife's murder twelve years earlier. When he met Natalie and listened to her theory he felt she could be right and joined up with her to work on the unsolved murders. At the same time he was falling in love with Natalie and determined to protect her even though she didn't want protecting.

Natalie Becker was looking for who murdered her sister, and J.D Cooper was looking for who murdered his wife. He has suspicions that it was the same person. He convinced Natalie to team up with him. They did work together, but agreed to disagree at times. This book was full of danger, and suspense. It played with my emotions, choking me up a few times. There are not many books that make me cry, but this one did. The author did an excellent job with this book, bring you into the story making it seem so real.
