PROS:
The product over all is really good. This is not only a laptop cooler but also akin to a docking station. It gives you 4 usb ports and a *very* quit and *very* effective fan.
CONS:
Size. My 17" Laptop is 4-5 centimeters wider than the ErgoStand.
Dell studio owners should pass on this as the main air intake is not covered by the ErgoStand. To do so, I need to shift the laptop so far right that it is barely hanging unto the stand. 10 centimeters sticks out on the right.

This should be advertised as a 15" stand and not 17".
Note that the fan blows air upwards so if your laptop exhausts hot air downwards, this could damage your system. Most laptops, however, intakes air from below.

Decided to plump for this product after some extensive research and I'm glad I did my homework.
The ErgoStand has a good large sized 14" fan which produces a fair amount of air circulation and emits a quiet whirring sound, if you are listening to music or watching a video you cannot hear the fan at all. The stand is perfectly sized for my MacBook Pro 15", but I've no doubt it would work just as well for a 17" machine.
As I type this review, the ErgoStand has reduced my CPU temperature from the low 70s Celcius to to the mid/high 50s, a reduction of around 15 to 18c. This is with the fan at only approx. 1/3 of it's maximum speed setting, very effective! [stats from iStat Menus 3]
Other plus features for me are:
4-port USB hub [no losing out on a USB port, also has a 5V AC adaptor socket for devices that requires more juice, adaptor not supplied]
Adjustable fan speed dial
Cable management handles/clips for USB cables
Five position stand, from flat to very upright
Lighweight, around 1Kg
Movable props to support the laptop when the stand is angled
All-in-all, a great piece of kit, well worth the outlay and would recommend to anyone looking for a decent quality product to cool your laptop.

This is by far and away the best laptop stand you can get bar none I have the coolmaster notepal u2 with its tiny little fans do not really cool the temperature on my i7 laptops also have a belkin as well they do not even come close to the cooling power of this (I used core temp to check the temperature of my cpu)

Fan can be noisy ( can be overcome by adjusting the angle of the stand or lowering the fan speed )
The ergostand has 2 adjustable stoppers to stop your laptop from falling off takes a while to get them in your preferred settings
Would I recommend this to a friend yes I have 2 and have ordered another one but the fan noise was totally different to the last 2 a high pitch noise (must have been a quality control issue) none the less if you do not get a faulty one you will be very satisfied with this excellent product have sent the faulty one back for a replacement

Excellent price vs. quality
Very good performance: silence, drops the temperature about 10 degree, good standing, 4usb ports very important for pc's with lack of it. Ideal to 15'6 laptop not more than this!
