Bought this to go with my new i7 860.
Installed two Noctua NF-P12 fans on the cooler with no problems, and used the supplied fan as a case fan.
Only slight problem I had was on install - cooler was able to twist in place on the CPU. There's a dial with a notch on the installation kit, and a peg on the cooler plate to fit this notch, which is meant to prevent this, but it was only after twisting in place that it seemed to engage fully. I thought about taking it off and reapplying paste / re-installing, but thought I'd see how it goes, and so far no problems.
At stock speeds my CPU is sitting at 22 degrees C.
Overclocked to 3.8 GHz it hits up to about 39 degrees C max.
Seems to be an excellent cooler, with my only gripe being the fact that since this is made to fit multiple CPU types there is the issue of locking it into the correct position, as described above.

Some reviews mention difficulty in fitting but I found it extremely easy to fit to 1156 socket, so don't be put off. Cooler comes with small tube of thermal paste, but this may not be enough so invest in some arctic silver or similar. Cooler has exposed heat pipes to improve heat conduction, but side effect of this is that the base is not smooth and has small air gaps running alongside the pipes. You need to make sure these are filled with thermal paste. I thought of dropping one star as the cooler is only supplied with one fan even though it is pictured with 2 (you can fit a second as an option), but I've not seen the CPU (i5-750) running hotter than 47C even under heavy overclocked load, hence 5 stars

I've been suffering with pretty poor temps ever since I decided to jump on the sandybridge bandwagon this time last year, I replaced my motherboard a few months ago and ever since then have seen a ludicrous jump in temp! (90 degrees when running a prime95 torture test at stock speeds!!)
I've thoroughly cleaned the CPU and reapplied paste many times, but still get the same temps, which leads me to think the stock cooler wasn't sitting properly (someone else in the reviews had the same issue)

Ever since upgrading to this (the EVO version was shipped to me by mistake), the figures speak for themselves... My max temps at stock speed barely breached 50 degrees on an evening with the central heating on full!
I've now bumped my 2600k up to ~4.4Ghz and haven't seen any of the cores go over 65 after many hours of prime95 torture tests and handbrake encodes...

For anybody complaining about this not fitting on their 1155 socket properly, it perfectly covers mine (Asus P8Z68-V motherboard), and it's really not that hard to fit!!

A very worthy 5 stars! (I can actually use my PC properly again without fear of it melting!!)

Bought this fan for a i5 2500k setup on as us gene-z motherboard which is itx based. Cooler was really easy to setup and had plenty of room around it. Finding it really quite and CPU which has yet to be oc is really cool. Would recommend this cooler.

Warning, this is HUGE. Check it will fit. Make sure your 5.2's are all in before fitting, as this may get in the way after being fitted. Recommended because the heatsink and fan make the PC sooooo quiet!

Firstly before you read any further here is what I did and you should too. Look on youtube for a video which will precisely show you every step you need to take to install this cooler and then it will be simplicity itself to do. The instructions which came with it are woeful, I must agree. But... doing it the youtube way answered everything. In particular the video by a man whose nym is 'CoolerMasterNA' entitled "Hyper 212 Plus Installation Video" was exactly the one I used to help me install this Hyper 212 plus, and I most thoroughly recommend you watch that video as well - from beginning to end, at least twice, before you even start to install this.

Now that I've it installed here's what I've found. Previously, using the Intel Stock cooler, Crysis2 was maxing out the temps on my default clocked Intel COre i7 2600K to a sizzling 90degrees Centigrade, so I definitely needed to chuck the Intel cooling fan. I replaced it with this one and now Crysis2 is maxing out my processor at 69 degrees centigrade. That is phenomenal cooling!!! An increase in cooling efficiency of just over 23 percent. That is an excellent result at this price and I highly recommend this cooling solution. But please don't forget the youtube tip I've just given you, and life will be easy. I really hope this tip will help potential buyers with installing this, as I've seen a few people here had a niggle or two deciphering the printed instructions supplied with the Cooler :-)

Does exactly what it is supposed to do, one of the best air coolers you can get at a silly price. Has been updated to the Hyper 212 EVO. Do youself a favour, dump the original manufacturers cooler and get one of these. Your CPU will appreciate it.

On my heatsink before it packed up, my CPU was running at about 48-54 degrees Celsius on idle, getting up to 65+ while gaming. My Motherboard used to sit around the 40 mark.
With this installed my CPU now runs at the low 30 range idle, and high 30-low 40 range while gaming. My Motherboard rarely get's above 33. It works absolute wonders.

If you don't have a wide chassis however, like me, don't expect to be able to put the side panel back on. This thing sits quite far out. It's just over 15cm tall, and on my case, just sticks out.
The installation on it was nice and easy with clear instructions. If I must say, I found it quite fun.
It only comes with one fan, and provides the mounts for a second. So if this ever started to not provide enough cooling, I have the option to make it better. Also, it comes with a base thermal paste, but I recommend buying Arctic Silver 5, which is really cheap anyway.

I can see myself using this in the future when I upgrade both my Motherboard and my CPU. I really like this.
