Beautifully produced album and gorgeous sound quality. A mixed bag of songs, some lovely ballads among them that bring out the finer quality of Bette Midler's voice. I particularly like the opening track "Merry Christmas", which she sings with such warmth - the musical equivelant of an egg nog beside a roaring fire. Not sure "O Come Emmanuel" is at home here, but she treats it with reverence and pulls it off. The livelier numbers she performs with her customary wit and style. Altogether a lovely album, which will be an annual favourite I am sure.
