The book is designed to look rustic and is covered in red gingham fabric with the pages made to look like they have been speckled with very faint cooking stains to add charm to the book. My copy was in excellent condition. Best of all, the book contained classic and authentic Swiss recipes that my mother used to make such as Rosti (a delicious Swiss potato recipe), Cheese Fondue and Mailanderli cookies. The recipes tugged at my heart especially since my mom is no longer here and there are so few Swiss cookbooks to experiment with new recipes. Such a beautiful cookbook to match a beautiful country. I think if my mom were alive she would have enjoyed this book as well. My mom was from Bern and I was pleased to recognize many of the recipes she either made or reminisced about when she lived there. There are many, many more recipes for meat, breads, Chocolate and Hazelnut cakes, soups, vegetables and cookies. Thank you for offering such a beautiful book!
