The book COOKING ON A STICK is an intriguing title and may hint at being a simple book - but it's not. The recipes call for a can of non-stick cooking spray along with perishable foods such as hotdogs, fruit, eggs, etc. The recipe ideas are only suitable if one is camping next to a grocery store! There is even a recipe which suggests you let your child make a necklace out of dried fruit and cereal and that the child wear it around their neck for snack food. If you're trying to attract a bear this might be a great idea.
I would not recommend this book for anything but the backyard camper. It is also not written at a level that your kids can read the recipes themselves, although the pictures suggest it is a children's book.

A fantastic, easy to read, simplicity to the point that i reccomend this book to everyone that have children and love the outdoor life.

If you are a family that enjoy the outdoors and love the smell of woodsmoke, then your nippers will love this book. If your eldest is about 7, they can read it for themselves - younger - give them a hand. It makes food and cooking exciting, fun and accessible for little ones. It's am American book but for anyone with half a brain this causes no problems at all. If you are a Cool Camper, Happy Camper or a Bushcrafter, buy this now for you kiddies - if you BBQ over coals (rather than gas), buy this now for your kiddies. Sure, one of the reviews says 'you need to camp near a supermarket' - but if you are a parent, you are prepared - goes without saying... eh?!
