I had a mincer like this many years ago. I threw it out and over the years had several plastic types. They all fell apart for one reason or another, so I've lost count as to how many I've bought.
Decided to go back to the old metal mincer and opted for this one. Now to be honest, I usually read through some reviews for things I buy from Amazon, but there were none. Still, I liked the look of this one and went ahead.
The mincer didn't arrive by the due date, but was only a couple of days late, which is unusual, but the weather might have played a part in that.
I couldn't wait to try my mincer and after following the intructions, I was ready to go. I was worried about damaging the worktop, but to be fair, the mincer comes with a plastic guard for protection. One problem - it was too thick for me to use, because my worktop is a good 6cm deep and I couldn't tighten the clamp enough. Used a thinner mat and that solved the problem easily. Away I went and I couldn't believe how easily and quickly the mincer worked.
I was pleasantly surprised with the clean up afterwards. Plenty of soapy water and a baby bottle brush and the job was done. Oiled all the parts and put the blades in a platic bag ready to go next time.
One word of warning. If the chunks of meat are too large, it will be hard work turning the handle, but that apart, I would definitely recommend this mincer. It looks good on my shelf too!
