5.0 out of 5 stars Sighs of relief 7 Jun 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
As I'm quite a sporty person I was devastated to have the diagnosis of RA in August last year (at the age of 27).
A friend of mine's mother has lived with it for years and he helpfully gave me a book (from the 1960s) with a very interesting back story and many recipes in it. And it nearly made me cry. Everything was white and bland and the 'helpful' directions to cut out (anything interesting to eat) was so depressing.
I love colourful, varied, spiced and hot food and this was not the news I wanted!

I eventually picked myself up out of my self pity got online and found this book, and again, I was nearly in tears - this time though, with relief!
Whilst I cannot eat everything in this book, as I found certain foods do agravate my condition (**don't listen to anyone who gives you a blanket of no-go foods, this is definitely and individual thing**) the colours and suggestions in this book did encourage me back to the kitchen and making a range of delicious food - Love it.

NB There aren't a huge number of recipes, but enough to get you started, to inspire and adapt.

Don't be sad, get cooking! :-)

pretty much like everything you may see on internet or magasine articles. Nothing new and not inspiring. Will pick out my favourite recipes and pass it on to a charity shop.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit faffy. 20 Oct 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I got this book so I could cook some meals for my dad, once I got it I could only find a handful of recipes he liked and found those to be Little faffy, it would have been nice if it had a few more simple quick dishes in it. The meal I made was delicious but not something a normal working person would have the time or energy to make.
