The perfect treat - no cup of coffee or tea is complete without one - cookies come in all shapes and sizes with a multitude of different flavourings. There are healthy versions, such as muesli bars, and more decadent bites, such as the triple chocolate circles. Cookie dough can be prepared in advance and frozen so that you always have a mixture on hand for unexpected guests or there are recipes which take only moments to mix and a few minutes in the oven for instant appeal. Recipes include Chocolate peppermint cookies; Ginger crunch slices and Spiced Easter cookies, as well as favourites from around the world, such as Greek Kourabiedes, Jewish Rugelach and Portuguese star anise cookies.


About the Author

Pippa Cuthbert and Lindsay Cameron Wilson met in London's famous Books for Cooks. Since then they have worked together on magazines, websites and books. Pippa was born in New Zealand but her degrees in nutrition and food science led her to London where she works as a food stylist, caterer and recipe developer. Lindsay is from eastern Canada. Her love of writing and her passion for food led her to cookery school and then a degree in journalism. After living and working in London, she has recently returned to Canada, where she works as a food writer, recipe tester and stylist.

I've only recently started baking and wanted to try new recipes that weren't too complicated. Cookies! by Pippa Cuthbert is the ideal book for just that! All the recipes contain easy to access ingredients in both metric and imperial measurements. If you're inexperienced, like myself, the first section guides you through all the possible methods for mixing your ingredients and along with the advantages and disadvantages for each method. The book also contains 'non-bake' cookies and cookies that are fun for kids too. The only disadvantage is having to decide which ones to bake next!

I love cookies. They're so easy and quick to make. So I have to love this book!
The only problem I have is that I can't use it anywhere near as often as I'd like or I would need to get to the gym much more than I do at the moment!
There are recipes for any kind of cookies/biscuits imaginable. Some are dead easy, some are a bit more complicated. My absolute favourite so far is the chocolate/mint one. But the choice is massive! And the recipes are written in a very easy-to-follow way.
I'd say this is the only cookie book you will ever need!

the recipes are easy to follow, the taste is wonderful. Received many compliments on the results. The childrens' section is easy to follow, even for our 3 1/2 yr. old grandson. Congratulations
