I bought this as a replacement for an almost identical temperature probe that I'd had for years, but had finally worn out. I was a little disappointed that this one is of a lighter weight construction (less metal), but it still works just fine.

I have been using this product for years on chicken and steak and it is great! My daughter has grown up using this and now is moving out and wanted her own! She loves this because it takes the guess work out of whether the chicken is done or not!
