My favorite type of DragonLance books to read--other than ones specifically crucial to the main story line--are ones that focus on new characters. Jeff Crook does just that with his third full length DragonLance novel, this one focusing on Conundrum from the new War of Souls trilogy by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Not only do you get a look at the title character and his hillarious journey to fulfill his life-quest, but you also get a wonderful look into one of the most intriguing races on Krynn: the gnomes.
Sometimes I found myself rolling on the floor laughing with the gnomes and their off-beat antics. Other times I was so caught up in their sea-faring lives that I couldn't stop turning the pages.
Whatever you look for in a new DragonLance adventure, you'll most likely find it in this new novel.
I gave this novel four stars because sometimes, in some chapters, I wasn't happy with the writing style. But overall, it was written very well.
