Product Description
How to use it : Before Proceeding, insert the plug into the camera's remote control socket with the mark on plug facing the markon socket(if available) and turn the camera on. 1.0 The release button can be pressed half way or all the way. Pressing it halfwaty activates the auto focus and sets the shutter speed and aperture settings 2.0 Pressing it completely takes the pictures. 3.0 For long exposure or continuous shooting, press the release button completely and slide it in the direction of the arrow. This locks the button in the depressed button slide the button back to its orginal position. Package Includes: One Remote Control

As the other reviews make clear this is a good quality product but I couldn't find any metion of how long the lead actually is. Having now bought one I can confirm that it's about 0.9m long so fine for long exposure shots but not so good if you want to do self portraits!

Brilliant!!!
It does exactly what it says it will, half press for focus and full to take the picture, it can also be locked for long exposures.
The price is fantastic and the delivery was fast too.

The Remote Control does exactly what the Sony one does, at more than half the price. And the shutter can be locked in place for Bulb exposures and continuous shots. Must have for all photographers

Not compatible with Sony A230
It is not clear from the above that this cannot be used with the Sony A230 which it cant. I have returned the item for exchange but positive help is not forthcoming!

Wrong description
This does not work with the Sony Alpha A330. I contacted Sony about this and they confirmed it. There is no connection for it on the camera.
