About the Author
Born in New York in 1917, WILL EISNER, "one of the legends of American comics" (Financial Times), was the author of The Spirit. His fifteen graphic novels, as well as his posthumous history, The Plot (ISBN 978 0 393 32860 8), form the Will Eisner Library. The comic industry's top annual awards, "The Eisners", are named in his honour.

Simple stories, told in alassical bitter-sweet jewish tone of voice delivers the 1930s in a four parts.The stories of Fremme Hersch, the Jew who had a contract with God, the saga of the street singer's ill fortune are the tales of chances and emotions. You will be proud to own it - as a first format book and masterpiece.

My son first bought this book & told me i should read it Now I have my own copy & I feel compelled to read it at least once a month Eisner has captured a feel to this book that comes alive as you read it each story is a classic.I always feel totally relaxed when reading this graphic noval.It will always take pride of place in my book collection.

Contract with God shows Eisner at his best, putting together an excelent story with Eisner's great art. The book brings up the idea : if I'm a good person loyal to God, will He treat me alright ?
