I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for detailed information about different contraceptive methods, their failure rates and side effects. Whether trying to choose a method to use, or as a doctor having to answer patients' queries, this is an invaluable resource. It is well laid out and highly readable with clear answers backed up with clinical evidence. Excellent.

This is a must have if you are a GP. It answers all those niggling questions that your patients ask you, and that you ask yourself - what else do you need?...

DO NOT BUY THE KINDLE EDITION. I bought this to learn all about contraception, and I suspect that the paperback edition is very good, but the Kindle app is almost unusable. For example: Start with the list of contents, jump to the beginning of Chapter 5. Start reading. Table 5.1 cannot be sized in a way that makes it readable without jumping back and forth between adjacent pages, and some views chop columns and words in half, with the halves on different pages. Once you get to section 5.12 the next section is.. 5.181. If you want to find the missing sections and the overview of the chapter, you have to go backwards from Section 5.1 Then there is the matter of some of the diagrams being put in as part of the section overview. I have tried reading the book on my Kindle and on my iPad - equally hopeless.

I think it's almost certainly a good book, but the Kindle edition is hopeless.

A must for every GP, family planning nurse and doctor. Truly 5 star since the recent update and further upgrade expected in 2011. Contains definitive information on all new methods.

The page I specifically wanted in the book 301/302 is missing. I know this is a error but it's very disappointing as I bought the book for this section. The bonus was I got pages 333 to 364 twice !!!! This was an expensive medical text book this error should have beed picked up at the publishers.
