Amazon Verified Purchase
Very good, big improvement over the original which was fantastic anyway. this version solves some of the original, "given the opportunity I would have done that differently" problems. The main one being setting it up to record which involved turning it on and then a pause/ hold process prior to finally pushing record. Now it is all on one button, MUCH better. One possible problem is that you only have one battery, rechargeable where the previous model allowed you to change battery. Now you have to plan use to account for re-charge time !

I recently purchased the Contour ROAM action camera and it was easy to mount onto my motorbike helmet and takes really amazing quality video for it's size. The recording angles are impressive and the low light recording is pretty good.

Bought this purely as a way to record myself in the local pool for self video coaching, in place of an old camcorder and flexible u/w housing, and it worked perfectly.
Simplicity in itself to use (once you have worked out how to open the back for access to the sockets, etc).
Its auto white balance totally compensated for the blue of the water (unlike the old camera), and while the fisheye effect is really obvious used out of water, looking through the flat window of the matching u/w housing narrows the field of view appreciably and makes everything look much more normal.
That case and the suction cup holder made it a great tool for my chosen task.
Subsequently I have used the rotating flat surface holder to attach it to a long rod to allow me to inspect my roof and gutters from the upstairs windows.
Designed for recording action sports, yet with so many other potential uses.
