I've been riding on these tyres for a little over a year now, and I'm very happy with them. They've probably done >1500 miles, with a significant amount commuting up and down Headington Hill in central oxford - I can't be exact, because my cycle computer's on the fritz. At the top of the hill, the gutters have a significant broken glass content, and the hill is both steep and tall. Most of my cycling is within the ring road, which also seems to be enriched in pointy things compared to the surrounding countryside, but I've never had a single flat in that time. I have dug out a couple of sharp things from the wheels, though, but always after finishing riding. Besides being pretty flat-resistant, they also seem grippy and wear well - frustratingly I've yet to wear off the moulding flashes from the front wheel, although the back's a bit more worn.

I've heard from friends who cycle that gator skins are heavy tyres and they'll sap your speed; I can't comment, because I haven't had an excuse to replace them (they're also stiff as anything, which makes changing them tricky). I'm not particularly worried though, because I use them for training rather than racing, and because being stuck on the side of the road changing your inner tube and unfolding another featherweight inner tube condom is probably a bigger time penalty.

I commute 10 miles a day and have been plagued by punctures, approx 7-10 in a year. Bought some Schwalbe Luganos with puncture protection and they were useless. Finally succumbed to these after thinking about it too long. The price always seemed quite high but the reviews are good. Had them on a month now, all good so far. Wire rimmed, so bloody hard to get on first time. Seem a little bit slippy on high speed corners but that could just be me. Will post an update in a couple of months.

Got these to reduce the frequency of punctures and three months later I have only suffered one puncture (doing about 100 km per week). I would recommend these as although they don't protect against all punctures they do seem to reduce the probability of getting one. It is worth shopping around though as there seems to be quite a big variation between the prices for these tyres. I always try Amazon and in most cases they come out cheaper.

These are very good tyres, since putting these tyres on my bike have not had a puncher (Touch wood) Only down side is slightly more road noise then ordinary road tyres. But I can put up with that.
