Having followed the routines in the Contented Little Baby Book, I welcomed Gina Ford's "sequel"! My daughter continues to thrive and is happy and content (as am I!).
This book has useful chapters on toddler behaviour and having a second child. A must if you find Gina's advice helpful or if you just need that extra help with the "terrible twos"!

After following the Contented Baby book, it was with great relief that i found Gina Ford had written a Toddler book as well. I have found the toddler years to be much more challenging, and this book has proved invaluable as a reference for the huge amount of issues that bringing up a toddler involves. It doesnt give you all the answers, but treats you as an adult who is bringing up your toddler in an loving, organised way and points you in the right direction.

At last, Gina has answered my prayers and given a book with routines for toddlers and for a new baby when you already have a toddler!! It is full of advice that Gina gives from her years of experience working with hundreds of babies - AND IT WORKS! I have used Gina's routines with both my children since they were weeks old - they are so content, they sleep well and eat well, and they have have two very happy and proud parents. Thank you Gina Ford!

I love all the Gina Ford books and this is book no exception. The routines work a treat. Also the advice on play, meals and sleep patterns have turned my toddler into one happy little bunny. In fact, other people have also noticed and I get lots of comments about how happy my 13 month old daughter is. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is at their wits end with their little one!

Sure great to get our lives back on track, but nothing about the mental development of the child - if you want a confident and secure young person living with you in 10 yrs, then looking after the mental needs at this age is vital. Read 'Why love Matters' by Sue Gerhardt for some real home truths about raising children, perhaps Gina Ford should too. Why Love Matters: How Affection Shapes a Baby's Brain

Having a child that has rarely slept through the night in a year I reluctantly turned to Gina Ford for advice - and wish I'd done it sooner!!! Ignore the critics that say she is not flexible and leaves babies to cry or given no affection - I certainly never came across any advice like that in this book. Just lots of straight-forward advice and suggestions. Lots of advice regarding toddler behaviour and habits too. Yes it is based around routines and structure, but with a flexible approach and a lot of common sense. I tend to eat and sleep and the sround same time each day so why should my children be any different?

My child is now sleeping through the night and reducing the number of early morning wakings after a week of following Ginas advice.

If you are as desperate as I was then what have you got to loose??

My daughter is a 1 year old contented little baby and having read this book I am confident that she will grow into a contented toddler.

So many of my questions about feeding and appetite, sleeping problems, tantrums etc have been answered by reading this. Armed with this knowledge I feel much better equipped to deal with the challenges of the toddler years ahead.

Wish I hadn't bought this on kindle. No chapters or index. Had to read the whole thing like a novel, rather than a reference book. No option for going back to check sections etc. Pointless to buy what I hoped to use as a reference book in this format. Disappointed, my second purchase of an e book.
