  • access and inclusion
  • the social-cultural contexts of e-learning
  • organisational structures, processes and identities
  • technical aspects of learning research – using tools and resources
  • approaches to learning and teaching practices and associated learning theories
  • designing for e-learning and the management of educational resources
  • professional roles and identities
  • the evolution of e-assessment
  • collaboration, motivation and educational evaluation.

Contemporary Perspectives in E-Learning Research provides a synthesis of research, giving readers a grounding in contemporary e-learning scholarship whilst identifying the debates that make it such a lively and fast-moving area. 5.0 out of 5 stars Contemporary Perspectives in eLearning 17 Oct 2009
Format:Paperback
This is a really useful book for anyone undertaking elearning research - it is well written and really current. For those who are working in eLearning or education in general, it is also a useful reference point to help understand the pedagogical and technological basis of eLearning, flexible learning, blended learning, etc.
I'm not just plugging this because Grainne was my Professor of e-learning in the Institute of Educational Technology at the Open University! :)
It is a great book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Kindle edition is broken 8 Aug 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
What is it a good book for if the paragraphs are broken with the last lines appearing embedded in the middle of other paragraphs ahead. How good can knowledge be if images with text and graphs are so small one can't read them?

What plagues e-learning nowadays is exactly what plagues this e-book: lots of good intentions, very poor execution, it is just money to be made. Video games 1 x E-learning 0, again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great in print even better as an e-book? 9 Mar 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Thorough, text book, sometimes hardwork, always informed needs a new edition every three months to keep up. Could it be constantly refreshed as an e-book? Authors all major academics and researchers. Would benefit from more corporate insights.
