Contemporary Implant Dentistry,
This is an excellent book to study Oral Implantology in great depth. Besides the full description of all surgical and prosthetic aspects, what is really helpful is the scientific insight to implant biomechanics, bone remodelling, loading physics and occlusal implications. It also includes most of the chapters of Misch's book 'Dental Implant Prosthetics', so there is no need to buy them both.

Having purchased a total of 4 implant books and been on numerous implant course, there were always gaps in my knowledge as none of these courses or books for that matter seem to cover everything that's relevant in detail, or in a manner that is understandable. I have therefore become increasingly very frustrated wasting my money on rubbish [for lack of a better word]. It was therefore a breath of fresh air to finally find and purchase a book that covers most of implant dentistry in a clear, organised and understandable manner with many images and pictures. Carl often uses analogies to explain his point which helps a lot. A good teacher is someone who makes a seemingly complex subject easy to understand. My only criticism is that there is less emphasis on the actual prosthetic stages step-wise, but I believe this is covered in 'Implant Restorations: A Step-by-Step Guide' by Carl Drago which I will also purchase soon. Once again, an excellent purchase, well worth the money!!!

I bought this book with Dental Implant Prosthetics, also by Misch, and this is a must have book. The references are extensive and they can lead on to more papers and journals that have been used in the field of Implantology. I there was only one book you could buy, it must be this one, If you had the chance to buy two then buy both. Excellent books.
