It's fair to say that The Pointer Sisters are my favourite girl group of the 80's by far, so this review may be a little biased. With their soaring vocals, perfect harmonies and blend of dance pop, the combination is dynamite. Ignoring the girls for one moment, another more recent combination that is oh-so perfect is The Pointers' back catalogue with the BBR record label and their desire to remaster old, brilliant albums and add extra tracks for our listening pleasure.

Ever since this album originally came out in the 80's, I've loved particular songs on it, my favourite being "Back in my arms". I bought the 12" single but never thought I would get a pristine, remastered copy on CD, but here it is. BBR have not just remastered the album, but added a whole host of other tracks on for good measure, including the 12" versions of the singles that were released. This is manna from heaven for a fan like me.

I would recommend that you listen to this through either good speakers or good headphones and compare the sound to what went before. I swear, you can hear things in this recording that you've never been aware of on the previous CD pressing. The hi-hat, the bass lines, eveything here sounds so fresh and renewed. This release is a treasure for Pointer Sisters fans and pop fans alike.

One more thing, not only have BBR remastered other Pointer Sisters albums, but they're going to re-release "Hot Together" soon and the seminal "Breakout" album as a double CD later in the year. Thank you BBR and thank you Ruth, Anita and June

This reissue of the Pointer Sisters Contact album from the 80's with it's bonus tracks and extended 12inch singles is a must for any Pointer Sisters fan. I own the original CD, but found this a plus with it's extended tracks.
I simply love it and am proud to have it by the side of my original CD. Buy it you won't be disappointed.Recommended.

I have been a fan of the Pointer Sisters since the 80s & for me, this is one of their best albums, I have loved it ever since I bought the original on vinyl back when it first came out, what a joy to have it re-released with these bonus tracks.
Musically I think its great, very much that American sounding mid-80s dance music that mixed Hi-NRG and electric guitar oriented rock music so well (Twist My Arm & Burn Down The Night) as well as more R&B/Soul dance music (Dare Me). Some of the beats per minute of these tracks are off the scale, and after dancing madly to this album (as I did back then and will no doubt do again) the beautiful 'Freedom' makes a nice finale to the album.
The booklet is faultless, so much attention to detail and really well laid out. One tiny, tiny, dissapointment is that 'All Systems Go' from the 'Perfect' Soundtrack album wasn't included, it would have fitted in so well to the tracklisting of this release in both sound and chronology, but I guess it'll be because of licensing and legal stuff.
This album is a definate 'must buy' if you enjoy 80s music.
