At first I thought this was outdated (but I said what the heck try it). I've been drawing a lot of anatomy, though I am not looking for the "realistic" look. But this book is still perfect for everyone. The parts that we must focus are made so that are immediately seen by our eyes. Understanding a human body is not making those perfect shapes, it's about understanding how everything is constructed. I regret saying that this book is "old", it's actually what every student will need in the future. Even those who feel that they know anatomy should at least read this.

i bought this book through a reference in Scott McCloud's "Understanding Comics", and the fact that every Artist/illustrator/Animator seems to mentions Bridgeman's work, i was not disappointed! Bridgeman's work is amazing and even a amateur can tell that the man must have been drawing the figure 24 hours a day. Bridgeman really understands the way the body connects together and his drawings help you to picture this more easily when drawing yourself. the one drawback with the book is that the text is a a little hard to take in, you have to bear in mind that it was written nearly 80 years ago! the size could be an issue when using for Classroom purposes but its nothing a little photocopying couldnt fix!
Thanks for reading
