Ok, this is an oddball album for me. It's 1986, Alice decides rightly to ditch the new wave sound that he had established in the early 80's. So what sound does Alice go for? Well, this album sounds like any other cheezy 80's stadium metal band. Not necessarily heavy, but loads of wailing guitar solos, and dodgy lyrics. I do like many of the songs on the album, eg 'Life and death of the party', 'Teenage Frankenstein'. Although, i find the production a little quiet at times, which affects the punch of the album. Maybe if they had played more heavy riffs and less guitar gymnastic solos it could have worked better. A good effort, even if you get the impression that Alice is jumping on the bandwagon.
