A must for small businesses! 15 Oct 2009
By Yamile Jackson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This book has given me tremendous insight as to what works and what doesn't (AND WHY!). The information not only helps me in setting up and executing an email marketing strategy, but it is a very great resource for learning best practices. I already have seen a difference in how I do e-mail business and what is most important: I am seeing results.
The book is easy to read and with a lot of added value! I am buying this book for colleagues that are owners of small businesses. This is the time to be productive in business with the least amount of resources as possible. This book helps you do just that. Thanks, Mr. Groves!

Page after page of self promotion (and a bit of content) 29 May 2010
By Keith Swayne - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
The product description here on Amazon is accurate, but it can't tell you the bad news: this book is filled with self-promotion. At one point I thought I found a passage where the author didn't refer to his own e-mail marketing service, but I read a few more words and found I was wrong. More reference to his own company!

In chapter two he refers to what is often called the sales cycle, which he renames after his company. Then the four sections of the chapter which seem to be aimed at explaining the four stages of the "Constant Content (c) Cycle" have different names than the four labels that are found in the accompanying diagram.

A good book will always promote the author's business because of the quality of the content. This book, on the other hand, is just embarrassing, especially when anyone with an ounce of marketing sense would realize that it's so overtly self-serving. A first year marketing student would know better.

This is book is not designed to help you as much as it is designed to help the author.

Good content 1 Feb 2010
By Frank Sohn - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
The book has good information for anyone who wants to get started with email marketing. I would suggest it as a starting point for email marketing information. Keep in mind that this comes from constant contact and so it reads sometimes like a Marketing Brochure. Look into more books to get a broader understanding.
