From the Back Cover

Praise for The Constant Contact Guide to Email Marketing

"Understanding how to build lasting customer relationships is a requirement for any business′s success. The Constant Contract Guide to Email Marketing is one of the best combinations of practical insight and actionable advice on that topic that I have encountered."
W. Kenneth Yancey, Jr., CEO, SCORE, Counselors to America′s Small Business

"I have interviewed Eric on many occasions and am thrilled that he has finally put his wisdom into a book. He is a master of email marketing and truly knows what makes small businesses tick. This book is a must–read for every business owner looking for a leg up against the competition."
Susan Wilson Solovic, CEO, Small Business Television

"Marketing your business without understanding the concepts here would be like driving in Boston for the first time without GPS lots of wasted time (and possibly tears). If you want a great return on your email marketing investment, start by reading this book."
Michael Katz, founder and Chief Penguin, Blue Penguin Development

"We have been using the concepts in this book for the past five years, and they have radically changed how we market our business. Not only have we saved tens of thousands of dollars in postage alone (sorry USPS), but we also generate significant sales every time we send a campaign. This is one book I hope my competition doesn′t read!"
Ken Giddon, President, Rothman′s NY

"Instead of allowing or encouraging clients to distribute endless streams of spam (yuck!), Constant Contact teaches clients to use email marketing to build their businesses in a healthy, sustainable, and profitable way. In the long run, this training means Constant Contact is more of a mentor than a vendor. And it makes all the difference in the world."
Michelle E. Villalobos, CEO and founder, Mivista Consulting, Inc.

Page after page of self promotion (and a bit of content) 29 May 2010
By Keith Swayne - Published on
Format: Hardcover
The product description here on Amazon is accurate, but it can't tell you the bad news: this book is filled with self-promotion. At one point I thought I found a passage where the author didn't refer to his own e-mail marketing service, but I read a few more words and found I was wrong. More reference to his own company!

In chapter two he refers to what is often called the sales cycle, which he renames after his company. Then the four sections of the chapter which seem to be aimed at explaining the four stages of the "Constant Content (c) Cycle" have different names than the four labels that are found in the accompanying diagram.

A good book will always promote the author's business because of the quality of the content. This book, on the other hand, is just embarrassing, especially when anyone with an ounce of marketing sense would realize that it's so overtly self-serving. A first year marketing student would know better.

This is book is not designed to help you as much as it is designed to help the author.

A must for small businesses! 15 Oct. 2009
By Yamile Jackson - Published on
Format: Hardcover
This book has given me tremendous insight as to what works and what doesn't (AND WHY!). The information not only helps me in setting up and executing an email marketing strategy, but it is a very great resource for learning best practices. I already have seen a difference in how I do e-mail business and what is most important: I am seeing results.
The book is easy to read and with a lot of added value! I am buying this book for colleagues that are owners of small businesses. This is the time to be productive in business with the least amount of resources as possible. This book helps you do just that. Thanks, Mr. Groves!

Good content 1 Feb. 2010
By Frank Sohn - Published on
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
The book has good information for anyone who wants to get started with email marketing. I would suggest it as a starting point for email marketing information. Keep in mind that this comes from constant contact and so it reads sometimes like a Marketing Brochure. Look into more books to get a broader understanding.

C C Book Review 24 Oct. 2009

This is a very nice book a summary and history of Constant Contact Marketing.
We were hoping for a tech type guide book to help and show the everyday workings and shortcuts to building your page or outreacg.
Still very well done.

Compact, Concise & Engaging 10 Nov. 2009
By CreativeTech - Published on
Format: Hardcover
I had really just intended to flip through this book when I first saw it, but found as I was halfway through the first chapter that I had been drawn in by the engaging and concise content. The book is a quick read and, as small business owners, both my wife and I found it packed with useful information. Some of this information each of us probably already knows, but having this available as a handy desk reference when crafting or sending business communication, I think, is invaluable. If this book has helped me retain even one customer (and I'm sure it has) it has already paid for itself. Kudos to Mr. Groves for writing such a handy and enjoyable little tome.
