For some of those who have read "Hunting and Gathering" (the french title "Ensemble c'est tout" is so much better) "Consolation" may at first be a little dissapointed as the style is somewhat more complex and can at times be a little difficult to follow. This seems particularly so early on in the book where it is at times hard to know who the narrator is and who is talking about who etc. However if the reader persists, I think the challenge is well worth it. A compelling and at times witty novel that ultimately I found satisfying.
