I'm genuinely excited by Conscious Medicine. Gill has brought together all the advancements in the New Sciences and quantum physics, and has coupled it with a vast range of cutting-edge information on tools and techniques that transform the body-mind.
I have been an avid reader of Gill's work for almost 15 years, and she has always shared her own personal experience as an integral part of the content of her books. Conscious Medicine is no exception, and the fact that this book has been inspired by Gill's own healing journey, ensures that there is a heart-felt depth to its contents.
Gill's journey is one that is close to my heart. Since healing myself of two incurable health conditions (CFS/ME and Bipolar Affective Disorder), I entered a world of what on the surface, appears to be miracles. I have since seen, heard of or witnessed countless stories of those who have defied the limitations set out to them by modern medicine and transformed their own health and wellbeing. And although these may appear to be miracles on the surface, Conscious Medicine will give you an in depth insight into how and why these seeming miracles occur. So, in many ways, Gill has taken the mystique out of self-healing, and has showed us how you can access such `miracles' in your everyday life.
This book is an elegant journey through some key concepts that I know to be vital, from my own work in this field. Gill explains with pinpoint accuracy how stress and trauma create disease, she explores the importance of transforming beliefs for changing health, and she takes you through a myriad of exercises that help you shift from a place of fear, to a loving universe. Each exercise is designed to shift your vibration, to move you into another dimension of health, and to transform your wellbeing on every level.
Another key for me with this book is that Gill highlights how much of a spiritual journey healing the physical body is. Having worked in this field for a number of years, I have often heard people say that they don't want to work on their emotions and spiritual self, they just want to heal their physical body. Conscious Medicine explains not only why spiritual and emotional healing is essential for physical health, it also takes you on a journey of self-exploration that is really accessible.
In short, I feel that Gill has made an outstanding contribution to new paradigm medicine. Whether you are on a journey of self-healing, working with clients to support their journey of recovery, or are simply curious about how the mind can heal the body, this book will take you on a total journey. Despite many years in this field, there were certainly many `aha' moments for me when I read this book. I will certainly be recommending it to all my trainees and putting it very firmly on the reading list for my courses.
