Ms BLACK writes such hot novels that you risk spontaneously combusting whilst reading them and this is no exception. CONQUEST comprises of two novels, NO ESCAPE and NO FEAR. The first charters KARA Q'ANA TAL, the daughter of KYRA and ZOR and her escape from her sacred mate CAM. KARA is destined to join with CAM on her 25th birthday, however she bitterly resents her lack of freedom and choice. In a daring escape, KARA and JANA flee to the planet Galis, a matriarchal society which promises the pair sanctuary.
In NO FEAR BRYNDA is stoically living out her life, bitterly aware that she is dying and has only months left. JEK however has no doubt that his sacred mate will live as he intends to do everything in his power to heal her. As a result BRYNDA suddenly finds herself in a position where she can possibly contemplate a future for the first time, one involving the lusty warrior by her side.
I love all the TREK MI Q'AN books and take special delight in the way BLACK constantly expands on old and new characters throughout this series, introducing friends and sacred mates into the Q'AN TIL royal bloodline and following the lives of the ensuing offspring. We learn more of KARA (KYRA'S missing sister - not her missing daughter!!) and LORD DEATH, we are left wondering at the fate of JANA and DARI and introduced to a supposedly legendary race, the KHAN-GORI. Yet again BLACK has delivered a delicious blend of erotica and humour which leaves the reader breathless and wanting more.

My only complain about this book is that it's too short. I love all of Ms Black Trek MiQ'an series.
There is humour lots of steamy sexual encounters and romance.
Ms Black has created a wonderful fantasy world in this series.
Out of the two story I prefer the second,"No Fear" - lots and lots of laughter.
Just wish it's much, much longer.

I can't wait for book 6 Armageddon!!!! 22 April 2004
By "dreamcloud82" - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Back cover blurb:
Trek Mi Q'an 4 - No Escape
Kara Q'ana Tal has been promised in marriage to Cam K'al Ra since she was a few months old. Determined to experience freedom rather than marriage,Kara flees from Cam and seeks refuge within the matriarichal planet of Galis.
With the blessing of Kara's father, the emperor,Cam sets out to track his wayward bride down, determined to claim her for all time.
Trek Mi Q'an 5 - No Fear
Mousy, modern day librarian Brynda Mitchell doesn't lead a very exciting life... yet.
I have to say I reccamend this book to any and all who have been reading the Trek Mi Q'an series. Jaid Black breathes a world of life onto the pages of her novels. Books 4&5 of this series are connected with her previes books of the series, so you must have AT LEAST read book 1-"The Empress' New Clothes"(5 stars!), book 2-"No Mercy"(5 stars!!), and book 3-"Enslaved"(5 stars!!!). All of these novels are incredibly steamy, with a great sense of humor, and an even better plot line. I loved it! And im sure you will too.

An Easy and Interesting Read 7 Jan. 2005
By Stephanie - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This particular book contains two shorter stories: "No Escape" and "No Fear". After reading "The Empress' New Clothes", I didn't have high expectaions for other stories in this series. I was pleasantly surprised. In addition to Kara and Brynda'a stories, the mystery of Kyra's long lost sister(introduced in the first novel) was further explored. In many ways, "Conquest" developed the stories' characters more thoroughly than Ms. Black was able to do in her longer novels, and for the first time, (especially in "No Fear") it wasn't just one lusty scene after another, but instead the romance aspect seemed to be in the spotlight. I would recommend "Conquest" and will make an attempt at other novels in the Trek MiQ'an series.

MMM MMM Good! Where's the next one? 12 Dec. 2004
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Trek Mi Q'an is such a great series. It brings the sexy like few other romantica writers do. She has a great way of keeping multiple storylines afloat while introducing new characters and conflicts. She also handles the whole Dom male-romance thing well. Her men are dominant but caring, strong but loving, and they LISTEN. Her books are a tribute to strong women, tough men, and the great relationships that happen between them.

Is it wrong to hope that a manly giant takes ME away???

Oooh! What happens next? 13 Feb. 2005

I just got this book and I loved it! The thing I love about Jaid Black is not only does she write very sensual books, they're also extremely readable. This one in particular was great because the plot almost (but not quite) over shadowed the sex. Outstanding! Any book that makes the heart pound AND stimulates the mind is an automatic 5 stars in my book. I won't restate the plot because other reviewers have done such a great job of that. But if you want an interesting and sexy read, BUY THIS BOOK!

So-So 5 July 2006
By K. R. Malone - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I love this series, but this book left me cold. After all that build up,then nothing.Cam and Kara's conflict was so anticlimactic that I was left wondering what Jaid Black was thinking.Kara kisses Cam's feet, then they kinda talk, and then everythings better.Huh?I don't know about you but I'm not buying it.Than there was Jek's story.Funny, yes anything after that, no.

The whole story was almost a waste. If it wasn't for the parts about the family I would have skiped it.All in all the sex was hot, but more of the same.It was all very disappointing.
