I really cannot recommend this album too highly. Richie's compositional skills are not very much in evidence here but what we have is his wonderful soulfully relaxed voice and some superb original arrangements for some outstanding songs.
I have lived with this album for more than twenty five years and I can truthfully say it is never boring.
His version of the old Bob Seeger "We've Got tonight" is richly, luxuriously definitive.
His warm soothing vocals revive Sam Cook's "You Send Me" and his phrasing and timing on "Mama we're gonna dance" are spot on.
I's a warm sensitive album by a very underrated singer who has delivered the goods since Woodstock back in '69.
It's not an easy album to get hold of but if you all order it they'll probably keep re issuing it!
