Product Description

Box player extraordinaire Martin O’Connor made his recording debut with this album, originally released in 1979. Since then he has gone on to perform and record with De Dannan and has turned out a number of solo recordings featuring primarily his own compositions. O’Connor’s intense and exuberant playing (influenced in part by the famous Galway piper Patsy Touhey) is enabled by his technical mastery of the instrument. Featuring Martin O’Connor (accordion, melodeon), Dónal Lunny (blarge), Gerry O’Beirne (guitar) and Colm Murphy (bodhran). Tracks: The Jolly Tinker / Munster Buttermilk; Port an Bhrather / Polkas / Hornpipe / A Stoir Mo Chro / Mother’s Delight; The College Groves; Jennie’s Chickens / Ríl Gan Ainm; Jenny Picking Cockles / Larry O’Gaff; The Castletown Connors / Lord Gordon’s; The Chicago Reel / The Connachtman’s Rambles; My Darling Asleep / Mo Giolla Mear / Happy To Meet, Sorry To Part; Delaney’s Drummers --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.
