Book Description

SEQUEL to Sanctuary: Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse. Civilization is in ruins. Cities have fallen. Shambling corpses wander the back roads and highways of America. Places of safety grow ever more rare as bands of survivors find themselves under siege. Even so, a handful have managed to hang on. Among these is Jacob Thornton who, along with a small group of friends, has built a home in the wilderness. Isolated and protected by thick walls, they made it through the early, dreadful months and the harsh winter that followed. Wanting more, the group decides to seek out others in the hope of bolstering their numbers and creating a true community. Not all who have survived the change seek a return to normalcy. There are those who embrace the collapse and chaos. Most such men have since perished, but there exists a single unified force, an army crisscrossing the land attacking all they encounter, leaving nothing but battered, violated bodies in their wake. Guided by a shadowy prophet, these raiders have targeted those few settlements and outposts still standing.

This is a great follow up to book 1. I love Jacob, Briann, Lizzie, and, especially, Mary and the twins. After the attack on The Castle, Jacob and co regroup. They get through the winter then return to a couple of enclaves they had contact with on their original journey.
They gather survivors and discover that the raiders are being lead by the Prophet, who is determined to kill everyone not in his group, as horribly as possible.
Jacob must use all his resources if the good guys are to prevail...
This is well written, with only a few grammatical errors. Please write book 3!

Oh dear. I gave the first book 5 stars because I thought it was excellent. however this one is really not as good a read. there are a number of problems.

Some of the characters are really getting annoying. Mary and lizzie were really interesting before, now they are just ridiculously irritating. constantly interrupting the dialogue to make monotonously pointless and predictable problems. I'm tired of hearing how Lizzie is such a pain in the arse, I just want to write in a new character to shoot her in the face. Mary is so stupid and illogical that I would do the shooting myself. its really getting old this constantly repeating dialogue where these two appear. Not to mention how boring it is that the only thing Briana EVER does is make threats to kill the lead character, get angry and genrally bitchy. in real life you can ignore people like this, in the book I have just ended up skipping sections where they are involved which is killing the story. it is poor writing. Not only that but it hasn't evaded my notice that of the 'main characters' one is male, who is apparently the only person in the entire US capable of setting up a functioning community and defeating the raiders. he is also an all round great leader and decent bloke. the rest of the main characters are female and despite all being interesting and well rounded in the first book the majority of them have been reduced to the stereotypical 'soley exist to be a pain in the arse for the main male hero, cook, provide eye candy and bear children' role. they do nothing but shout, complain, be irrational, get in the way of the hero's genius and genrally be annoying. its really, really poor.

Also I am tired with the stupidity of the 'good' survivors.

I just chose this set of ebooks because they were cheap n looked interesting. I wasn't expecting that much from them but I'm 2/3 into the first book & really enjoying it. Yes it's zombies again but with a totally new idea. I would definitely recommend these if ur into this type of book, I'm sure you will enjoy them.

SPOILERS
A somewhat darker tale than the first, this story focuses on the threat caused by survivors of the Apocalypse. Zombies do seem to fall by the wayside.

A slower paced book than the first, but still worth a read.
