I bought and read the book before attending an FI academy. I find the book very useful for general revision and as an excellent source of reference for practical configuration.
In situations where you are faced with practical configuration questions, it comes very handy in pointing you in the right direction, and refreshing your memory as to how exactly you should proceed.
It was recommended to me by a friend and I would recommend it for all consultants, in as much as it is impossible to always remember everything relating to FI/CO configuration. It makes an excellent companion, just like a dictionary does for language students.

I should have been able to award this book 5 stars.

If it actually covered all the FI/CO modules I would have.

However where are the notes on Dunning in AR, Fixed Assets, Product Costing, the FICO aspects of Project Systems etc. etc.

It's a shame, because apart from the annoying omissions, this book is excellent.

Despite the omissions though, I would still buy this book. I have no regrets about getting my copy.

I work full time with the SAP FICO module, and I find it very useful for refreshing my memory on an area that I haven't worked on for a while.

If the author was to bring out an up to date copy of this book, including all the missing areas listed above, I would buy it in a heartbeat, and I know a lot of other FICO professionals who would do the same.

Provides a lot of technical info, but the book relates everything to a case study within the book. Useful tool in visualising how the content can (and does) apply in the real world.
I wouldn't recommend this book to complete beginners in SAP, but is excellent for people wanting to progress within the SAP world.

Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This was purchased for the Finance staff; they needed to understand more about some of the key accounting processes within SAP. It seems to be one of the better books for SAP that we have bought.

The book is a little out of data as most of the screenshots seem to be taken from earlier versions of the software and we were running version 6. However, in most cases they could still make sense of the information and they found it of considerable help; they highlighted a number of areas where the information actually provided more and better guidance than they had received from a couple of the consultants.

Because the SAP Finance module is so large, there were a couple of sections that they felt did not have enough detail and they would have liked to see a bit more about these. However, they were satisfied with with the information in the book and it still gets referred to occasionally.
