This bike makes an excellent introduction into the world of casual exercise, especially if you're afraid to jog in public without looking like a plonker. Installation is fairly simple, and the bike is fairly small and almost silent at lower resistance levels. This means it'll happily fit in the corner of your room, ready to be pulled out and given a spin in seconds.

Considering the price of other bikes this one has performed wonderfully for the money - I've been using it for several months, around 3-6 days a week. As I'm a beginner, I have no need for fancy heart rate monitoring or chocolate syrup resistance values, so this bike has been more than satisfactory. Regardless, the £60 value does eventually betray itself: one of the foot straps snapped off after a few weeks of use, even barefoot; and the speed meter is hilariously inaccurate, jerking from 21 to 25 to 32 in a couple of minutes, but never reading anywhere in between.

Ultimately if you're looking to exercise, weigh a reasonable amount (the bike has a max weight of 250b or so) and don't want to spend too much money (or don't know if you'll stick with it!), this and a set of cheap dumbbells will have you set for a while. Recommended but expect to upgrade within a year or two.

Not a bad exercise bike but the seat doesn't go up very far so if you have long legs don't even bother with this bike. I'm 5'4" (163cm) and my legs easily reach the peddles with the seat at the maximum height. it is quiet, but as another reviewer has already mentioned, it's still quite bulky when it's folded up. it's not bad though for the price and I don't think there's very many smaller exercise bikes out there.

Perfect! 20 Feb 2009
By Lizlass
Amazon Verified Purchase
Ordered late evening, 18th Feb, arrived early afternoon, 20th Feb, very fast delivery!.

THE USER;
Female, 57, 5ft 4ins, 9 stone, short legs, very unfit, very little stamina. Daily casual use, starting with 15 min sessions and building up. Machine will have light use.

THE BIKE;
I unpacked and assembled it in 20 mins, never looked at the instructions as I expected to. Extremely easy to assemble, but used my own grippers with a couple of bolts. Sits in the corner waiting to be used, taking very little space, so may never need folding away. This is a sturdy machine, and right for the money.

BIKE USE;
Comfortable to use, I have the seat at its lowest but may take it up a notch or two, to allow a bit more leg stretch. Initially I set the resistance to lowest but soon scaled up, eventually to its highest, which will work for me, if I want any more punishment then I shall pedal faster/longer!. I chose not to attach "computer", so can not comment on it.

I have used the bike 5 times already, it is great, very pleased. So, if like me, you want to improve your fitness, then this bike is an excellent start.
BUT, anyone looking for hard/punishing training needs to avoid this bike, as it really is for mild/moderate exercise.

The Bike is very good for what I wanted which is to keep fit without going out in the rain. The seat is a bit high for me at 5ft 2ins. I can get on with the aid of a stool. Read more

Good sturdy bike, but if you're tall you may need to drill an extra hole to raise the seat (otherwise your knees are around your shoulders...)
